How World Duty Free Aced the High Volume Hiring Experience

World Duty Free, the UK’s leading travel retailer, faced a massive hiring challenge after the pandemic: sales collapsed, most of the workforce was furloughed, and by summer 2022 they needed around 1,000 new colleagues to return to full capacity. With no in-house recruitment team and an extremely high-volume hiring requirement, they turned to ResourceBank and Avature, using Avature’s ATS, candidate portal, and hiring tools to support the process.

Avature helped ResourceBank build a careers site, run branded email and SMS campaigns, automate screening, and let candidates book interview slots through a timeslot portal. They also used Avature’s Hiring Manager Portal and onboarding portal to streamline assessments and paperwork. The results were strong: 32,300 applications, 5,200 interviews by ResourceBank, 1,650 interviews by World Duty Free managers, and 1,020 offers, while screening time and offer processing time were both reduced by 50 percent.
