How Laitram Discovered the Power of Innovation in Talent Acquisition

Laitram, a New Orleans-based industrial manufacturer with more than 2,500 employees, needed to modernize a recruiting process that relied on paper resumes, a LotusNotes ATS, and a broken PDF application system. During a period of rapid growth, the company received 10,000 applications in the U.S. alone and faced overwhelmed recruiters, no visibility for hiring managers, and a poor candidate experience. To solve this, Laitram turned to Avature and its flexible talent acquisition platform.

Using Avature, Laitram gave recruiters more autonomy to build and adjust workflows without IT support, streamline onboarding, and create custom hiring processes in real time. The company launched an online onboarding portal that made paperwork and new-hire information accessible anywhere, and it used tailored questionnaires to screen applicants and automate personalized follow-up. Results were strongly positive: new-hire feedback on onboarding was commonly described as “smooth” and “welcoming,” and Laitram was able to implement changes quickly, save recruiter time, and improve the overall candidate and employee experience.
