Case Study: Fossil Group achieves 10-minute straight-through order processing and ASN penalty reduction with Automic

A Automic Case Study

Preview of the Fossil Group Case Study

Online orders processed every 10 minutes and 18% growth: that requires straight-through processing

Fossil, the global design, marketing and distribution company best known for watches and accessories, was challenged to process rapidly growing wholesale and online orders across disparate systems — SAP AFS on IBM AIX and a PkMS AS/400 warehouse system. Rapid year‑over‑year growth (10–18%), near‑24x7 operations and manual, slack‑filled procedures created cross‑platform bottlenecks, missed Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) deadlines and penalty charges, making straight‑through processing essential.

Fossil implemented the Automic Business Automation platform to integrate SAP and PkMS workflows across UNIX and iSeries, manage many‑to‑one dependencies and run parallel SAP jobs with end‑to‑end visibility and automatic recovery. The automation removed manual slack, compressed run times, cut process failures and ASN penalties, increased throughput and staff productivity, and allowed Fossil to reliably meet SLAs while supporting accelerated order volumes.
