Democratising Data and Improving Efficiency with a Single Source of Truth

Wessex Water, a regional water and sewerage company serving 2.8 million customers in the south west of England, needed a better way to manage project data, improve collaboration, and digitize workflows across its in-house engineering, construction, and supply chain teams. Although the company already had multiple digital tools, many processes were still being done manually, creating inefficiencies and making it harder to maintain a single, accurate source of information. Wessex Water worked with Autodesk Construction Cloud, using BIM 360 to support its digital transformation.

Autodesk Construction Cloud helped Wessex Water centralize project data, connect teams and external partners, and run design reviews and document management in one common data environment. The solution made project setup much faster, improved 3D model accessibility, and supported remote collaboration during the Covid-19 pandemic. Usage of BIM 360 increased by nearly 400% over the last year, and Wessex Water plans to make it its standard platform for future projects, with expanded use of field management to improve asset operations.
