The State of New Mexico Successfully Launches Facility and Asset Management Software

AssetWORKS partnered with the State of New Mexico to deploy the AiM Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) for the General Services Department (GSD). The 15‑month effort aimed to deliver total cost‑of‑ownership and maintenance data across all state facilities, re‑engineer operations and maintenance processes, integrate multiple lines of business, and replace paper workflows to improve safety, throughput, and customer service.

The team implemented the standard AiM solution with no customizations, created 27 standard operating procedures, and rolled out mobile technology, electronic dispatch and field reporting. The project—staffed largely with local resources—added a serviceable reserve asset category that saved over $68,000, enhanced the customer request portal for risk and claims, and finished ahead of schedule and 22% under budget ($455,000). The result is higher maintenance productivity, near‑real‑time work‑order visibility, and faster customer response times.
