Sunderland City Council, which manages a 505-vehicle fleet, needed to modernise and streamline its fleet operations, reduce paperwork, improve safety and compliance, and adopt a cloud-based, multi-tenant system that integrates with external platforms. After an extensive procurement process the council selected AssetWorks to meet these requirements.

The council implemented AssetWorks FleetFocus M5 with FleetFocus EDGE, the AssetWorks Inspection App and a reporting database (with Power BI integration planned). The solution delivered real-time visibility, mobile workflows for drivers and technicians, automated inspections and compliance records, and stronger KPI reporting—replacing an estimated 19,000 sheets of paper (about 2.2 tonnes CO2 saved annually) and improving decision-making, workshop productivity and risk management.
