Los Angeles County Internal Services Department - Customer Case Study

Los Angeles County Internal Services Department’s Fleet Services manages roughly 20,000 county vehicles and provides purchasing, maintenance, fueling and reporting for multiple departments. Faced with legacy systems, paper-based shop workflows, fuel theft and limited staff/budget to fully deploy new tools, the department needed an integrated solution to improve accountability, maintenance planning and operational transparency.

LA County implemented AssetWorks’ FleetFocus and FuelFocus (with plans to expand telematics and deploy the EDGE mobile app), which consolidated workflows, enabled real‑time fuel monitoring and secure access controls, and automated reporting. The result: streamlined processes and more intuitive data management, quicker detection and reduction of fuel theft, better preventive‑maintenance forecasting, improved shop-floor tracking and stronger accountability — with rollout of EDGE and wider telematics adoption planned to extend those gains.
