City of Minot - Customer Case Study

The City of Minot Vehicle Maintenance team, led by Brian Horinka, was operating on an antiquated 1980s system with paper-based processes and limited ability to extract usable data while managing roughly 775 pieces of equipment. The team needed a modern fleet management solution to replace manual workflows, improve preventive maintenance, and provide reliable data—challenges made more complex by a small staff and a COVID-19–impacted deployment timeline.

In 2020 Minot implemented AssetWorks FleetFocus, with IT support, an early go‑live, and hands‑on training to speed adoption. The system digitized service requests and work orders, introduced one‑click time tracking, eliminated time‑consuming weekly maintenance checks, improved preventive maintenance and asset visibility (including FEMA tracking), and produced reliable data to justify staffing and equipment requests—delivering measurable efficiency and better fleet oversight.
