New Hampshire Department of Transportation - Customer Case Study

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NH DOT), headquartered in Concord, oversees the state’s roads, bridges, transit, rail, air and active-transportation assets. After nearly 15 years on AssetWorks FleetFocus M5 and several legacy systems, the agency needed an integrated enterprise asset management solution to track not only vehicles but infrastructure and durable inventory, and to replace disconnected paper- and laptop-based field workflows. The biggest challenges were migrating diverse business units, winning agency-wide adoption, and ensuring real-time, accurate data for planning and maintenance.

Beginning migration in December 2021 and going live with AssetWorks EAM in July 2022, NH DOT rolled out the system in phases (300 of 1,650 users initially), added mobile field iPads, and leveraged AssetWorks support and training. The result was simplified preventative-maintenance and repair tracking, improved searchable management of non‑fleet equipment with self-updating records, more accessible real-time field data for budgeting and work plans, and time savings from integrated timesheets—delivering better operational visibility and fewer errors.
