A Artera Case Study

Kheir Clinic Serves Diverse Community with Artera Multilingual Messaging

Kheir Clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving roughly 18,000 largely non‑English‑speaking patients across three Los Angeles sites, needed a way to reach culturally and linguistically diverse, hard‑to‑reach populations during the COVID‑19 vaccine rollout. The clinic had used Artera since August 2018 for appointment reminders, surveys, and campaigns, and relied on Artera’s multilingual messaging (supporting 19 languages) to overcome limited local media and language barriers while proving it could rapidly vaccinate underserved communities.

Kheir used Artera’s broadcast texting and campaign features to send segmented, translated vaccination messages with scheduling links, sign‑up instructions, and second‑dose reminders, often pulling language preferences from the EHR. The effort helped Kheir become a vaccination destination: 21,313 unique patients received a COVID campaign, 12,522 vaccinations were administered (including five days over 1,000 vaccinations and a peak event of 1,644 shots), and 3,002 new patients were reached — demonstrating Artera’s role in streamlining outreach and increasing vaccine allocation.
