Hackensack Meridian Health Launches Mammography Campaign via Artera, Attains $2.7M in Incremental Revenue

Hackensack Meridian Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare network in New Jersey, faced a large gap in preventive care after the pandemic, with many patients missing cancer screenings. To re-engage patients for mammography, Hackensack Meridian Health partnered with Artera and used Artera’s patient engagement messaging platform to run a mammography-focused SMS campaign that included an easy scheduling link and messages sent from a familiar hospital phone number.

Using Artera, HMH identified women overdue for mammograms (up to 18 months), sent targeted texts (900–27K patients, 1–3x/month) and enabled one-click scheduling via SMS. Over a 90-day period Artera-powered outreach delivered 45K texts, generated 7K scheduled mammography appointments, achieved a 45% response rate, identified 12% with positive findings, and produced $2.7M in incremental revenue; HMH has since expanded the campaign to more than 50K women and plans to broaden outreach to other screenings with Artera’s support.
