Dayton Children’s Hospital Uses Artera Analytics Plus with Self Service Functionality to Optimize Patient Communication and Improve Staff Efficiency

Dayton Children’s Hospital, a regional pediatric referral center serving over 490,000 annual visits, needed better ways to analyze patient data and reduce manual communication work across its 20+ locations. Already using Artera Analytics Plus, the hospital adopted the platform’s new Self Service Analytics to give staff direct access to reporting and automation tools for optimizing patient communication and improving operational efficiency.

Using Artera’s Self Service Analytics, Dayton Children’s staff—led by Mindy Becker—built 18 reports and two dashboards, created automations and quick responses, and launched follow-up messaging and no-show surveys. The Artera solution cut roughly 8,000 outbound phone calls and saved about 530 staff hours in nine months (Nov 2022–July 2023), while driving MyChart enrollment to about an 80% average across most practices, streamlining workflows and improving patient engagement.
