While using aPriori's should-costing tool was effective for negotiations, the process was complex and time-consuming, relying on a dedicated team of cost experts. This created a bottleneck, limiting the number of cost analyses they could perform and capping potential cost savings.
To overcome this, Signify worked with aPriori to democratize and automate the should-costing process. They created a simple web application that allowed buyers to generate cost analyses directly by entering an item number, bypassing the need for a cost master. aPriori also enabled mass requests to automatically scan for high-value opportunities. This solution dramatically increased the volume of analyses, identified larger savings opportunities, and improved negotiation efficiency, putting Signify on a path to increase its should-cost analyses tenfold from 1,000 to 10,000 per year.
