Case Study: Playrix cuts rewarded ad fraud and saves $100K/month with AppsFlyer

A AppsFlyer Case Study

Preview of the Playrix Case Study

How Playrix improved efficiency and cut costs

Playrix, a top global mobile game developer behind titles like Gardenscapes and Fishdom, was struggling with rising fraud in rewarded ad channels. The company faced manipulative user tactics that inflated costs, distorted user acquisition metrics, and forced the team into time-consuming manual fraud checks. To address this, Playrix turned to AppsFlyer’s Measurement Suite and Fraud Protection capabilities, including Series-of-Events (SoE) Validation Rules.

AppsFlyer helped Playrix define and enforce valid in-game event sequences so fraudulent users could be automatically flagged and blocked before claiming illegitimate rewards. The result was a 12.5% reduction in fraudulent rewards, about $100,000 in monthly ad spend savings for the tested title and channel, and a reduction of roughly 2 hours per week per team member in manual fraud-management work.
