CRED, a Bangalore-based fintech platform for trusted, high-quality users, needed to scale faster through referrals while ensuring referred users met strict in-app quality criteria. They wanted to reward referrers based on the referees’ in-app actions (not just installs), eliminate referral codes for a seamless UX, and have a platform-agnostic attribution method across Android and iOS — so they turned to AppsFlyer and its OneLink solution.

AppsFlyer’s OneLink generates shortened, customized attribution URLs that CRED embeds in in-app invites, with near-real-time attribution delivered via AppsFlyer webhooks and APIs so rewards trigger only after required in-app actions. The implementation removed referral-code overhead and improved referral quality: in March 2020 referred users were 50% higher than the app average for eligibility and delivered a 44% higher first credit card payment rate, demonstrating AppsFlyer’s measurable impact on CRED’s growth.
