Ouest-France Group, one of France’s most popular regional news outlets, wanted to extend the benefits of header bidding to its AMP mobile inventory. Because AMP pages can’t run the JavaScript needed for client-side auctions, the publisher needed a way to improve monetization while preserving fast load times and a smooth mobile experience, and it turned to AppNexus for help.
AppNexus implemented Prebid Server on Ouest-France’s AMP inventory, moving the auction server-side to bypass AMP’s technical limits and increase demand competition without adding latency. The result was a doubling of average CPMs from $1.5 to $3, and within three months Prebid Server accounted for nearly 20% of monetization on certain ad units, helping increase overall publisher revenue.
