A Applied Predictive Technologies Case Study
A regional bank’s commercial banking division tracked millions of client interactions across thousands of bankers in its CRM but couldn’t determine which outreach tactics or leads truly drove revenue. Prior analyses were inconclusive and skewed by naturally successful bankers, leaving the bank unable to measure the incremental impact of reallocating limited banker time—changes that could translate to material profit improvements.
Using APT’s Test & Learn® software to identify naturally occurring changes and match “test” bankers to similar “control” bankers, the bank isolated causal effects of different activities. The analysis found that increasing customer visits produced a statistically significant 2.4% revenue lift, prioritizing high-value leads produced a 3.1% lift, and targeting recommended changes generated about $5M in incremental annual revenue; it also identified the customer segments and banker attributes most likely to benefit and fed those insights into a predictive model to guide outreach and lead assignment.
