APT (Predictive Technologies’ APT Test & Learn®) helps insurers design and measure agent incentives. A leading insurer wanted to optimize the compensation portfolio for independent agencies but couldn’t reliably measure each incentive’s true incremental impact, risking costly, one-size-fits-all programs.
Using Test & Learn experiments with scientifically matched control groups, APT isolated the effects of two incentives and identified which agency types each served best. Incentive A drove premiums up 4.2% (+$29.6M; $3.65 premium per payout) among retention/tenured agencies, while Incentive B drove premiums up 6.1% (+$52.0M; $2.90 per payout) among acquisition-focused/Mid‑Atlantic agencies. Targeting accordingly yielded an optimized rollout with $49.1M incremental premiums on $7.2M projected payouts—$6.79 of premium per payout—improving efficiency and reducing the rollout universe.
