National Military Family Association reaches 200,000 users with Appcelerator

The National Military Family Association, a nonprofit organization, needed a low-cost way to quickly deliver personalized, up-to-date resources to military families who face frequent moves and transitions. Their challenge was to reach a large number of members with tailored information pulled from thousands of sources, making it easily accessible for on-the-go spouses without cluttered websites. They partnered with the vendor Appcelerator to address this.

Appcelerator's solution involved building the MyMilitaryLife app on their Titanium platform with an Appcelerator Cloud Services back end. This provided a single JavaScript codebase, a cloud CMS, push notifications, and personalized "life paths." The app significantly reduced IT overhead, extended outreach, and streamlined service delivery. Post-launch results showed substantial adoption with 200,000 registered users and nearly 2,200 downloads, delivering both time and cost savings for the association.
