A Ansible Case Study
Swisscom, Switzerland’s largest telecommunications and IT provider (about 20,000 employees), faced fragmented, script‑based management across multiple datacenters and diverse network platforms, which caused inefficiencies, delays and limited central control for servers, firewalls, network and storage devices.
With Red Hat Consulting, Swisscom deployed Red Hat Ansible Tower as a centralized, agentless automation platform with self‑service provisioning and role‑based access; five teams (about 80 users) now automate roughly 15,000 components. The solution standardized playbooks, improved collaboration, cut an estimated 3,000 hours of manual OS work per year, reduced deployments from hours to minutes, and freed engineers to focus on higher‑value projects.
