Southern Water installs 400 meters a day with AMT-SYBEX

Southern Water undertook a major Universal Metering Programme (UMP) to install hundreds of water meters daily and manage the subsequent reading collection for accurate billing. The challenge was to manage this intensive process efficiently and improve the quality of its asset data. To meet this challenge, Southern Water worked with vendor AMT-SYBEX.

AMT-SYBEX provided its Ellipse, Field Data Collection System, and Data Transfer Solution to ensure accurate information was gathered during the meter installation process. This solution integrated with Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology, enabling the efficient 'drive-by' capture of meter readings. As a result, AMT-SYBEX helped Southern Water rise to the challenge of universal metering by ensuring readings could be passed to the billing system quickly and accurately.
