Southern Water faced the challenge of implementing a mandatory Universal Metering Programme to conserve water supplies, which required the installation of 400 meters per day and the accurate collection of readings for billing. They also needed to improve the quality and completeness of their asset data to meet regulatory requirements. To address these challenges, they worked with vendor AMT-SYBEX.

AMT-SYBEX utilized its existing Ellipse Work Management and FDCS mobile computing solutions, along with its Data Transfer Solution (DTS). This allowed for accurate meter installation data capture and efficient automated meter reading, enabling 'drive-by' data collection.
