Case Study: Southern Water improves asset management and maintenance efficiency with AMT-SYBEX

Enabling better investments in maintenance through enhanced asset management capabilities

Southern Water, a major UK water and wastewater utility serving around two million households, needed a more accurate and consistent view of its complex asset base to improve maintenance planning, meet regulatory requirements, and support deterioration modelling. It worked with AMT-SYBEX to assess and redesign its asset data hierarchy and improve asset information management.

AMT-SYBEX managed the full project, including defining the new hierarchy, organising surveys, and overseeing data quality checks across a large sample of assets. The result was asset data consistency of 98% to 100%, giving Southern Water better insight into asset value, condition, and risk, and enabling more effective maintenance and replacement investment to improve service levels and efficiency.
