Case Study: Santander boosts internal career mobility with AMS

A AMS Case Study

Preview of the Santander Case Study

Driving culture and enhancing Career Mobility

Santander, a global financial services institution, faced a challenge with low internal mobility, filling only 40% of vacancies with internal candidates prior to 2020. In partnership with AMS, they sought to shift this focus inward to provide better career progression opportunities for their employees and assist with redeployment, moving beyond their previous reliance on the external candidate market.

AMS established a dedicated 'Career Mobility' squad that implemented a comprehensive solution. This included Career Mobility Consultants, a new online Career Mobility Hub, and a personalized Career Coach service. The impact was significant: AMS and Santander increased the proportion of internal hires from 40% to 47%, presented over 8,200 internal applications to hiring managers, and achieved a 54% conversion rate from interview to offer for coached candidates. The initiative also won multiple awards for candidate experience and socio-economic diversity.
