Staples, Inc. aimed to accelerate its inclusion and diversity (I&D) initiatives, particularly around talent acquisition, in response to a heightened social climate. To validate its existing practices and build a sustainable roadmap, the company engaged the advisory services of vendor AMS for a talent acquisition strategy diagnostic to identify obstacles and opportunities.
AMS conducted a comprehensive 10-week diagnostic, including market research and stakeholder interviews, which culminated in a detailed three-year strategic plan. This was followed by operational support from AMS, including comprehensive training programs for recruiters and hiring managers to reduce bias and source diverse talent. The engagement provided Staples with a clear, phased roadmap for long-term success and immediate actionable "quick wins" to improve diversity hiring outcomes.
