How Amplitude Helped Give UX Designers a Voice at IBM Cloud for VMware Products

IBM Cloud for VMware’s UX design team needed harder data to back design decisions and improve the provisioning experience. Using Amplitude, they cleaned up instrumentation, standardized naming and properties, and built dashboards to track conversion rate, time on task, and error notifications.

With Amplitude, IBM identified error messages in the provision flow, updated access permissions, and disabled an unnecessary button, which reduced errors and improved conversions on the provisioning page. IBM also used Amplitude to monitor experiments in real time, and saw double-digit drops in time on task, a multifold increase in task completion, and four new offerings launched in the first year.
