A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Edmunds.com, the online and mobile marketplace for car shoppers that provides inventory, reviews, pricing, photos and videos, faced limits with an on-premises source code management system: adding users was costly due to license and hardware procurement, repositories lacked backup/clustering, maintenance was time-consuming, and occasional downtime disrupted teams.
Edmunds migrated more than 1,000 repositories and 270+ users to AWS CodeCommit, a fully managed Git service that integrates with their CI/CD pipeline and stores code and media with no size limits. The move eliminated most operational overhead (about a 95% reduction in admin time), increased availability by leveraging S3 redundancy, made user scaling simple, and is saving roughly $450 per user annually.
