Finnair, Skyscanner and Amadeus join forces to boost conversion with Altéa NDC

Finnair, the flag carrier of Finland, wanted to support its digital transformation by keeping closer contact with customers and making shopping more relevant and personalized. The airline faced a challenge common to metasearch channels: travelers compare flights quickly on any device, but being redirected to another site can interrupt the shopping flow and hurt conversion. To address this, Finnair worked with Amadeus and its Altéa NDC solution.

Amadeus implemented Altéa NDC for Finnair, enabling the airline to display and sell flights and ancillaries directly in Skyscanner’s booking flow, while also supporting Fare Family upsells and a smoother end-to-end booking experience. The results included a 30% increase in bookings by the end of the first semester after launch and an improvement in click-to-book rate from 8% to 12%. Finnair also gained a new distribution option that helped unlock additional revenue and improve customer experience.
