A Alvaria Case Study
Fleishman-Hillard, a global strategic communications firm with about 2,000 employees in 80 offices, needed to replace a restrictive enterprise portal that had become mainly a document repository. The old system offered poor search, limited ways to organize or tag content, no integration with PeopleSoft, and low adoption of collaboration tools—driving employees to use external social networks and making it hard to find expertise quickly and securely.
The company implemented Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 (with NewsGator microblogging, metadata tagging, enterprise search, Business Connectivity Services to PeopleSoft, Silverlight and unified communications) to create a social, searchable enterprise portal. The new solution keeps internal conversations inside the firewall, makes people and content easier to find, speeds assembly of expert teams, improves business insights and process efficiency, and supports a planned rollout to the firm’s 2,000+ employees.
