T-Mobile needed a way for the CIO and senior leadership to measure API adoption and quality across the enterprise — including counts of APIs, developers, products, response times, error rates and traffic composition — but Apigee’s distributed data made it hard to get a holistic, enterprise-level view for decision making and digital transformation tracking.
Using Alteryx, Kenny built reusable macros to pull API data from Apigee (and join ownership and app mappings from Workday, ServiceNow and Cloud Foundry), transform JSON into normalized tables, and load the results into SQL. A scheduled workflow refreshes data daily and feeds a live Tableau dashboard, cutting manual query time (about 6–7 hours saved), reducing the ETL run to ~20 minutes, improving accessibility, and enabling faster, data-driven leadership decisions.
