A ALEX Case Study
Comcast, a telecommunications company with roughly 90,000 employees, faced low participation in voluntary programs like Flexible Spending Accounts as workers struggled with increasingly complex benefits choices. Seeing confusion as a barrier to smart decision-making, Comcast turned to ALEX in 2010 to make benefits communication more engaging and easier to understand.
ALEX guided employees through personalized, plain‑language explanations and decision support; in its first year more than half of the workforce used it and 98% of surveyed users found it helpful. Comcast attributes a 30% increase in FSA participation to ALEX, with employees reporting they better understood FSAs and enjoyed using the tool.
