BT Drives Supply Chain Transformation and Network Optimization with AIMMS

BT is a global communications leader whose Supply Chain division supports nearly 30 million UK customers, 32,000 engineers and around 40,000 daily customer orders. As BT expanded into business services it needed a modern, collaborative network-design capability and better cost-to-serve insights after its legacy tool was retired, driving the need for ongoing network modeling and strategic capacity/cost analysis.

BT implemented AIMMS Network Design Navigator and the Secondary Costing App to remap and dynamically optimize engineering resources and depot locations. Using AIMMS they modeled and migrated ~4,000 engineers, closed a depot and rebalanced workloads, cut drive times by up to 50%, reduced property and transport costs, and improved collaboration and productivity while enabling network expansion without unnecessary cost increases.
