A large producer of building systems and construction products faced major financial risks from an unreliable power grid in South Africa. A utility transformer failure meant that power outages would cause their furnace to cool, leading to the loss of production material costing an estimated 1 million ZAR per day. Aggreko installed four 1250 kVA generators at 22kV to ensure the furnace remained operational during grid outages.
