Power for the iconic 50th National Day celebrations of the UAE

Aggreko provided power generation and a complete turnkey power solution for LarMac PROJECTS ME Ltd & People FFZ LLC. The challenge was to deliver 16 MW of reliable, clean power to a remote, mountainous site at the Hatta Water Dam for the UAE's 50th National Day celebrations. This required powering a unique floating stage show and all temporary infrastructure, overcoming significant logistical challenges presented by the difficult, uneven terrain and the need for extensive cabling over long distances.

The solution implemented by Aggreko involved deploying 59 diesel generators and a massive distribution network with 245 panels and 135 km of power cables. Their team managed the entire project, from initial design to on-site execution over six months, adapting to major layout changes and implementing specialized safety protocols for equipment over water. Aggreko's seamless power delivery ensured the spectacular event was a massive success, creating a fully operative venue that paid homage to the nation's history and will be remembered for years to come.
