Power and load bank support enables overhaul of NOC’s jack-up rig

A world class offshore infrastructure company faced a challenge during the overhaul of a jack-up rig for a national oil company. With the rig's onboard power unavailable, they needed a reliable external power source and a system to handle regenerative loads for the critical jacking operations required to move the rig in and out of the water. Aggreko was brought in to provide a solution.

Aggreko delivered a turnkey power package consisting of two 1460 kVA generators, a multi-tap transformer, and a 1266 kW load bank. The load bank was crucial for absorbing regenerative power generated when lowering the rig's legs. This safe and robust solution enabled the customer to complete the refurbishment and conversion project on schedule, meeting all contractual obligations and stringent QHSE standards.
