Mitigating environmental impact: CCED’s journey to zero flaring with Aggreko

CC Energy Development (CCED), an Oman-based oil and gas company, faced the environmental challenge of gas flaring and a reliance on costly diesel generators for power. Seeking to reduce its carbon footprint and work towards a 2030 goal of zero flaring, CCED partnered with Aggreko for a flare-to-power solution.

Aggreko implemented a transformative project by designing, building, and operating two gas power plants that converted waste gas into electricity. This solution utilized 33 MW of power and was delivered via a flexible DBOOM contract. Aggreko’s project helped CCED cut carbon emissions by 30%, achieve significant progress towards zero flaring, and save US$2.5 million on its total cost of energy.
