Case Study: EVA Energia achieves 4.5 MW of clean power from landfill biogas with Aggreko

Generating power from largest landfill site in Latin America

EVA Energia, a company that manages and transforms urban waste into power, needed to rapidly generate an additional 4.5 MW of electricity using the variable biogas from a Buenos Aires landfill. They challenged Aggreko to design and implement a solution capable of handling this difficult fuel type within a strict one-month deadline.

Aggreko deployed a 4.5 MW power solution using its highly efficient Next Generation Gas (NGG) generators, which were specially adapted with a kit to run on the landfill biogas. Within the tight timeframe, Aggreko’s engineers also incorporated moisture removal and filtering systems to overcome site-specific challenges. The successful project provides clean energy for thousands of people and significantly reduces the environmental footprint by transforming urban waste into a renewable power source.
