Flare Gas to Power project enables Operator to maximise oil production

An oil company in the Middle East was limited in its oil production due to emissions constraints from flaring associated petroleum gas. They identified an opportunity to use this gas for power generation to reduce their environmental impact and maximize production, but the complex project required a specialized engineering partner to design and finance the gas conversion and power distribution infrastructure.

Aggreko provided a turn-key Flare Gas to Power solution, developing and financing the project from concept to operation. The solution included gas treatment plants and a 180 MW modular power plant, delivering 165 MW of reliable power to the local grid. For the oil company, Aggreko's solution eliminated flaring and maximized oil production. For the region, it stabilized the grid, reduced power costs, and saved an estimated 840 tonnes of CO2 per day.
