How Ben & Jerry’s is leading the virtual photography revolution

Ben & Jerry’s faced a sudden creative and operational challenge during the COVID‑19 pandemic: traditional photoshoots were halted just as the company needed thousands of new product images to support a global “Food Pairings” delivery campaign across 38 markets. To maintain brand authenticity and scale visual production without studio shoots, Ben & Jerry’s turned to Adobe Experience Cloud tools—most notably Adobe Dimension for virtual photography—and used Adobe Target as part of their optimization stack.

The team implemented a virtual photography pipeline using Adobe Dimension to render hyper‑real 3D pints composited onto Adobe Stock and custom 360° backplates, while leveraging Adobe Target to test and personalize experiences (with Adobe Analytics and Audience Manager informing creative decisions). The result: delivery rolled out in nearly half of their markets, delivery app downloads grew 50%, asset production scaled from a few thousand to over 25,000 annually, and the shift saved hundreds of labor hours and thousands of dollars per month—showing Adobe Target and the broader Adobe toolset drove measurable creative and business impact.
