KLM - Customer Case Study

KLM, the Netherlands’ flagship airline and a SkyTeam member serving 130+ destinations, faced a growing administrative burden from hundreds of global partner and corporate contracts each year. The company needed to reduce courier expenses, manage and track large volumes of paperwork, shorten internal signing cycles, and align contract processes with its CSR sustainability goals.

KLM implemented Adobe Sign (Adobe Document Cloud) after a successful pilot, rolling it out company-wide to automate workflows and increase visibility and accountability. The change cut turnaround from weeks to about 28 hours on average, achieved a 63% completion rate via e-signature, and put nearly 20,000 contracts through the system (98% of Netherlands sales contracts). It also eliminated printing of roughly 1 million pages—saving 120 trees and nearly 10 million liters of water—reduced courier use, improved partner experience, and delivered measurable operational and sustainability gains.
