How a Messaging Change Helps Rescue Animals in Need

Dharamsala Animal Rescue (DAR), founded by Deb Jarrett, is a nonprofit in Dharamsala, India that runs an animal rescue centre, education programs and rabies vaccination camps. Although DAR already had solid website traffic and social followings, they struggled to convert visitors into donors and volunteers because their messaging was unclear, the homepage was cluttered, and volunteer onboarding was slow and paper‑based.

Bumper Leads reworked DAR’s messaging and homepage to foreground Deb’s story and the charity’s mission, introduced a mascot (Suraj) to humanize the brand, and implemented ActiveCampaign for behavior‑based segmentation and automated nurture sequences. They also replaced a cumbersome PDF volunteer form with free JotForm applications, cutting hours of admin to minutes. The changes produced stronger engagement and replies, streamlined volunteer intake, and a more predictable, growing stream of donors and community awareness.
