Large Payment Service Provider had launched a new cross-border eCommerce offering but saw merchant conversion rates stuck at about 23% despite available tools. ACI Worldwide identified four root causes — an overly strict 3‑D Secure setup, merchants misusing payment data fields, overreliance on CSCs in some countries, and lack of pre-submission data validation — and guided precise fixes. Implementing BIN-based 3‑D Secure bypasses for Brazil, stopping automated internal tags, disabling CSC prompts where inappropriate, and deploying ACI’s data validation raised merchant conversion rates from ~23% to nearly 72% while reducing acquirer and fraud-provider rejections.
