Planet Payment, a global provider of multi-currency payment and processing services operating in 22 countries and serving 118,000 merchant locations, faced growing sales friction because its legacy gateway lacked modern global capabilities. The company needed like-for-like settlement across its 100+ currencies, broad alternative payment method coverage, a way to take its China UnionPay solution global, mobile/in‑app support, and an embedded PCI-compliant payments form. To address these gaps Planet Payment selected ACI Worldwide’s ACI Secure eCommerce solution and ACI’s payments gateway.

ACI Worldwide implemented its global payments network, mobile SDKs and COPYandPAY embeddable PCI form (rebranded PIPE), giving Planet Payment hundreds of local acquirers/APMs, mobile and in‑app capabilities, and embedded PCI compliance. The integration enabled like‑for‑like settlement in 100+ currencies, added UnionPay settlement in EUR/GBP/RMB/HKD, sped up onboarding (the fastest integration of 70+ experienced by Planet), and materially grew business — Planet Payment won 50% more clients, expanded into top Internet 500 merchants and increased traction outside North America.
