Monroe County Water Authority Gives 200,000 Customers Easy Pay Option

Monroe County Water Authority, an award-winning utility serving nearly 200,000 customers in the Rochester, New York area, wanted to add popular alternative payment methods like PayPal and Venmo to give customers more self-serve, secure and convenient options while limiting demands on its small IT team. To meet that challenge the utility engaged ACI Worldwide and its ACI Speedpay® bill-pay solution.

ACI Worldwide integrated PayPal and Venmo into the Authority’s existing ACI Speedpay® platform using pre-built integrations and marketing assets from ACI’s Digital Adoption Resource Center, enabling customers to pay with stored funding methods and two-factor authentication. The rollout provided nearly 200,000 customers with an easier, more secure way to pay, required no additional internal resources or billing interruption, and preserved existing reconciliation and settlement processes while driving immediate adoption.
