Hy-Vee, Inc Gains In-House Command of Transaction Processing

Hy-Vee, Inc., an employee-owned supermarket chain with more than 220 stores and nearly US$5 billion in annual revenue, needed to bring payment processing in-house to route debit, credit and EBT transactions and to authorize/process checks and gift cards. To reduce per-transaction costs, minimize fraud risk and avoid dependence on a single third-party processor, Hy-Vee selected ACI Worldwide and its ACI Omni-Commerce solution.

ACI Worldwide implemented ACI Omni-Commerce as an in-house electronic payments switch with check authorization/tracking and stored-value card issuance and validation, securely routing and processing credit, debit, EBT, ACH, checks and gift cards. As a result, Hy-Vee, Inc. reduced transaction costs, minimized fraud exposure, eliminated single-processor dependence, improved gift-card and check handling, and shortened customer checkout times while maintaining its high level of customer service.
