Scheels, a U.S. sports retailer with 26 stores, more than 5,000 employees and up to 40 registers per store, faced the challenge of delivering a secure, cost‑effective omni‑channel payments experience while supporting large sales volumes and emerging payment schemes with limited internal resources. To meet this need, Scheels turned to ACI Worldwide and deployed ACI Retail Commerce Server as part of the ACI Omni‑Commerce solution in ACI’s cloud‑based, on‑demand environment and added eSocket.POS for EMV, tokenization and point‑to‑point encryption.
By implementing ACI Worldwide’s hosted, full‑featured payments and POS solution, Scheels can respond more quickly to new payment trends without overburdening staff and now offers customers a seamless, secure experience across channels. The ACI solution improved payments performance and security, addressed EMV and encryption requirements, and gave Scheels the operational confidence and scalability to handle complex, evolving payment needs.
