Seattle Children’s Hospital boosts engagement with recognitions from patients via Achievers API

Seattle Children’s Hospital, a leading pediatric medical center, wanted a more inclusive, real-time way for patients and families to recognize everyone involved in care—not just doctors and nurses, but also custodial, administrative, and other behind-the-scenes staff. The hospital partnered with Achievers and used its Wave recognition and rewards platform, along with Achievers’ API, to bridge patient feedback with employee recognition.

Achievers helped Seattle Children’s launch a patient recognition channel inside the hospital’s mobile app, making it easy for families to send kudos directly to all caregivers. In the pilot, 144 patient-submitted recognitions were received and employee engagement with Wave increased by 10%. The program also sparked more peer-to-peer recognition and a stronger “pay it forward” culture, improving staff morale and visibility across the organization.
