Olympus leverages Achievers platform to improve employee recognition

Olympus Australia, the 400‑person subsidiary of Olympus Corporation, identified employee recognition and engagement as priority issues after a 2013 survey. Their 2014 “Shining Stars” program was largely desktop- and email-based and needed a refresh, so in 2018 they transitioned to the Achievers platform as part of a wider launch of the company’s global values.

Achievers provided a social, mobile-friendly interface (likes, comments, images/gifs), a “Boost” points feature and stronger reporting, and Olympus moved annual awards onto the platform. Within a year recognition activity surged: 100% increase in points-based recognition, 102% increase in total recognition activity, 103% more eCards sent, 189% more people giving recognition, and a rise in favourable engagement from 34% to 63%.
