Target Australia, a national department store chain with over 120 stores and a growing online business, faced rapid sales growth and rising regional fraud threats after COVID. The retailer needed to upgrade its ordering platform and adopt a stronger, multi-layered fraud prevention strategy without disrupting the customer experience or introducing new risks.

Working with Accertify, Target implemented device authentication, migrated to a pre-authorization environment integrated with 3DS2, and deployed Accertify’s Machine Learning Retail Model within its existing fraud stack. The solution reduced manual reviews, enabled faster clearance of valid orders and immediate rejection of fraud, delivered a frictionless journey for 99% of customers and cut chargebacks by 71%.
