The City of Lincoln, Nebraska (population ~265,400) needed to speed application, review and inspection times, replace an outgrown PERMITS Plus system, and repair internal disconnects across its Development Services Center to better serve the building community and meet the Mayor’s objectives.
Lincoln implemented Accela Automation plus Mobile Office, Citizen Access and GIS to automate planning, permitting, inspections and licensing and give field staff and contractors paperless mobile tools. The rollout included contractor beta testing, finished $100K under budget, required no additional FTEs, strengthened industry relationships, and achieved the Mayor’s goals.
